On October 31, 2021, an indiscriminate attack occurred on the Tokyo Metropolitan Subway in Japan. A 24-year-old man stabbed a passenger with a knife, resulting in 18 minor and serious injuries. In this regard, Wang, Po-Chi, a professor in the Department of Criminal Justice of Ming Chuan University, explained that after the perpetrator was arrested, he frankly imitated the Odakyu line stabbing case and improved it. In the two cases, apart from wounding people with knives, they both chose to set fire in the train. The former used salad oil and the latter was successfully ignited with lighter oil, causing passengers to flee everywhere and causing panic among the people.
