2021-04-18 01:27 United Daily News/Reporter Cai Yiqian/Taipei Report

Regarding reports of female students from the Chinese Culture University being attacked by unknown persons, the police said that the university is a public space, and there are many guards and instructors on campus to maintain law and order. It is recommended that students keep in mind the phone number of the school’s instructor’s office. If a public security incident is discovered on campus, In case of danger, be notified immediately, and there are people on duty 24 hours; scholars emphasize that schools should immediately strengthen the lighting equipment in the school, and also urge students to stay vigilant at this sensitive time, and to travel in groups regardless of day or night.

It is understood that the police went to the campus of the Chinese Culture University yesterday to sign a patrol box and found that Chen Nan had appeared on the campus. He immediately brought him back to the police station for questioning. However, Chen Nan denied that any female students had been thrown away with bags and claimed that school students would slander him. As the female student was unidentified and did not take the initiative to report the case, the police told Chen Nan to leave.

Wang, Po-Chi associate professor of the Department of Criminal Justice of Ming Chuan University believes that schools should strengthen the lighting inside the school so that there are still many bright spaces in the school late at night, which can reduce the chance of criminals committing crimes and do a good job in situational crime prevention. In addition, those involved in the case who have been dropped out of school should be asked to leave the school immediately, and more school guards should be stationed on patrols to actively protect the students.

The police stated that although the Constitution and the University Autonomy Regulations stipulate that military police cannot enter the campus arbitrarily, students can report to the police immediately if they find a public security incident on campus. They also reminded that they should not return to the dormitory late at night. Brightly lit roads can reduce the chance of encountering danger.
