Fraud cases are constantly emerging! Almost everyone in Taiwan has received fraud calls and newsletters, which have become more rampant in recent years. Even the social networks often used by the public, such as Facebook and Youtube, have repeatedly appeared relevant messages. According to the survey of the Grassroots Influence Culture and Education Foundation, only 6% of the people have not received fraud calls or newsletters, and 53% of the people are dissatisfied with the government's performance in combating fraud. It is suggested that the government should think about effectively combating fraud groups to reduce people's fraud.
The survey also pointed out that 74% of the people believe there are many fraud cases, 19% believe there are a bit many, 82% of the people believe that the existing laws have too light criminal responsibilities for fraudsters, 88% believe that increasing legal responsibilities is helpful in reducing fraud cases in Taiwan, and 73% of the people believe that the "Fraud Act 3" is helpful in preventing fraud.
Public security polls also show that 53.3% of the population is dissatisfied with the practice of fraud, "said Cheng, Jui-Lung, Dean of the School of Education and Professor of Criminology at Chung Cheng University. This survey shows that fraud is widespread among all age groups, making people uneasy. In recent years, the amount of fraud has increased, indicating low risk and huge profits, which are more likely to harm the values of young people." The government should face it with caution. As for the majority of people who hope for increased punishment, he said that increasing punishment may have a deterrent effect, but research shows that severe punishment may not necessarily cure troubled times, and no matter how severe it is, some people will still take risks.
Wang, Po-Chi, an associate professor at the Department of Criminal Justice of Ming Chuan University, believes that according to the investigation, most people have no interest in fraud, and according to the theory of rational choice, the punishment may be too light to lead to the continuous growth of fraud groups. More than 50% of people, regardless of gender, are worried about being scammed, and to make the fraud group afraid and painful, it is important to cut off the flow of money.
Professor Chen-Dong Tso from the Department of Political Science at National Taiwan University criticized that the Executive Yuan yesterday issued the "Fraud Program 1.5", stating that everyone is a member. What responsibility should the government take? It is completely vague and neglects the responsibility of the government.
Yen, Yung-Shen, the convener of the Grassroots Foundation poll, said that even though the government has launched many measures to combat fraud, most people still believe that there are many fraud cases. The government should rethink how to effectively combat fraud groups, and should immediately publish fraud techniques, propose feasible ways to prevent people from being cheated, and develop more stringent penalties to deter violations of the law, and should trace back to the source and educate people not to be cheated.
