Jinmen Social Welfare Service Center Social Work Supervision Education to Enhance Professional Knowledge and Ability

The Jinhu Social Welfare Service Center of Jinmen County Government recently held the "112 Social Work (Supervisor) Education Training for Social Welfare Service Center" in the conference room on the third floor of the Health Administration Building of the Health Bureau, presided over by YEH,MEI-MEI, the Director of Social Affairs.

The Social Affairs Department of Jinmen County Government said that the education and training of social work (supervisors) specially invited Mr. Tai, Shih-Mei, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Social Policy and Social Work of National Chi Nan University, a full-time associate professor in the Department of Criminal Justice of Ming Chuan University, The theme of the course is "Mental Health and Vulnerable Family Services", and a 6-hour course is held in one day. Tai, Shih-Mei specializes in community domestic violence prevention, protective social work, new residents' social work, social work supervision, social welfare service delivery and evaluation, so as to help strengthen the social workers (supervisors) 'ability to have a social security network plan to deepen the "family centered, community-based" service model, Establish a stronger sustainable support system for families and communities, and enhance the professional knowledge and abilities of social work partners through the lectures of instructors. The participants are about 40 social workers, supervisors, direct service social worker supervisors, and department heads from the county's social welfare service center.
The Social Affairs Department further stated that the purpose of this external professional supervision and training program for social workers is to respond to the needs of serving families and communities, assist social welfare center partners in identifying sensitive families and individual cases, strengthen resource integration and capacity building, and meet the service needs of diverse communities and families. Enriching personal knowledge and abilities of social workers: Through professional training courses, enhance the functions of social workers, integrate knowledge and action, meet the needs of practical work, have confidence and energy to achieve tasks, improve service quality and effectiveness, and further enhance social workers' beliefs and attitudes towards work. Responding to the ever-changing society: Enriching core professional abilities and practical work skills to develop diverse and rapidly changing service needs in response to different service targets.
The theme of this education and training is the topic of mental health and vulnerable family services. The course is titled "Assessment of Opposite Situations and Service Intervention in Multivariate and Vulnerable Families", and will be taught in the afternoon. In the morning, important concepts will be explained, and in the afternoon, practical exercises will be conducted. The course is aimed at social welfare service centers facing diverse service targets such as offender families, domestic violence perpetrators, inmates, and mental illnesses, How to further use the core concept of family as service to conduct basic assessment based on the orientation of social work, integrate and practice the social psychological assessment framework, and explore the involvement of integration and individual needs, and enable students to respond to service shock experience, feedback and learn from each other through situational drills.
