Due to the frequent spread of child abuse incidents in childcare institutions in recent years, in order to protect the safety of children, the Legislative Yuan held a series of public hearings for the first time on November 6, 2020 on "Removing improper discipline in preschool childcare institutions" to conduct "Series 1: How to establish improper discipline" Tai, Shih-Mei Associate Professor was invited to attend as a scholar and expert in the discussion of "Inspection and Punishment System" to comprehensively review the current laws and regulations and implementation status, especially to provide advice on the identification of improper treatment, education and training of trauma awareness, etc., except for legislators, civil organizations, and parents. In addition to the groups and representatives, the National Education Administration of the Ministry of Education, the Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Protection Department of the Ministry of Health and Welfare all attended the project report or responded. The municipality, county and city governments also sent staff to participate, and look forward to the subsequent establishment of a complete control and investigation mechanism for childcare institutions , To avoid regrets from happening again.
